Here are a collection of diverse vistas from this visually inspiring region. The weather plays a large part in my visual interest with wind blasted clear blue winter skies allowing a luminosity that attracted Matisse and many others.

The options are many to take inspiration from, the Mediterranean resorts of Canet, Bacares, Le Racou, Collioure and Banyuls. The famous and beautiful towns of Collioure, Ceret and Cadeques in Spain are loaded with artistic history. The majestic Pyrenees wrap themselves around Roussillon and tumble into the Med. The lush countryside is quite simply carpeted with sun baked vineyards. This is also a hard working agricultural area growing peaches, Apricots and Cherries. Farmland has been a favourite haunt for me.

If all that was not enough, the lovely Costa Brava and the glorious city of Barcelona is Roussillon's southern neighbour.
